For someone who needs to prove his innocence to an entire country, president Donald Trump spends an awful lot of time making himself look totally guilty.
Still freaking out that his long-time personal attorney, Michael Cohen, was raided by the FBI over payments made to one (or more!) of Trump’s mistresses, Trump had a public meltdown this morning. Unable to hide his mental instability and mounting stress from the world, Trump unleashed on Twitter and whined about how the FBI had supposedly violated attorney-client privilege (they didn’t).
Trump freaked out and wrote:
Attorney Client privilege is now a thing of the past. I have many (too many!) lawyers and they are probably wondering when their offices, and even homes, are going to be raided with everything, including their phones and computers, taken. All lawyers are deflated and concerned!”
Trump’s lawyers wouldn’t be looking over their shoulders and worrying about their offices being raided if they had nothing to hide. It’s absolutely insane that even at this point in Trump’s presidency, he hasn’t yet realized that “innocent” people don’t need to resist the law or hide things from the country.
Trump is once again trying to turn the country on the FBI, as he did when he slammed former FBI Director James Comey and refused to take the side of U.S. intelligence agencies over Russian meddling in the election. However, the FBI has done nothing wrong by raiding Cohen’s offices — there are several exceptions to attorney-client privilege, and Cohen’s activity in Trump’s presidency falls right into those loopholes. But of course, Trump has never been one to be concerned with facts — he relies heavily on fear-mongering and lies to keep people on his side and distracted by chaos.
Unfortunately for the erratic POTUS, he’s falling apart at the seams and everyone can now see right through him.
