The first outlet to even report on the pending divorce of Donald Trump, Jr. and his wife Vanessa was a paper that Junior’s dad long considered his hometown newspaper, the New York Post.
Sometimes the Post reports news of the Trump family right on the front, with some of the craziest, most on the nose graphics layouts we’ve ever seen. Other times, the news is so salacious that NYP saves it for their celebrity gossip section, called “Page Six.”
That’s where you find the younger Trump’s divorce confirmation on Thursday, but they had already reported on it in advance of the formal announcement of the legal filing. But when it became news again today, some readers noted an interesting tidbit from the original report about the reason for the break-up.
Tucked away below the fold, after the details of their separate lives, their five children, and his various hunting exploits, was one small detail that might have gone unnoticed at first. Multiple sources had contributed to the paper’s reporting, and according to the Post:
Their concerns were increased by Don Jr.’s tweeting, including when he liked a tweet linking antidepressants to mass murder, and another liking a tweet attacking a teen survivor of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.
Previously at Halloween, Don tweeted that he would take away half of his 3-year-old daughter’s Halloween candy because he wrote, ‘it’s never to [sic] early to teach her about socialism.’ Then after his recent trip to India, he was heavily criticized for his tone-deaf remark praising the country’s poor because ‘There’s still a smile on a face.'”
Put a little differently:

And it’s likely not just his tweets, but even the things he clicks on as “likes” on the social media site. After all, he’s “liked” some pretty gross stuff:
This makes perfect sense. It sounds like Junior really a chip off the old blockhead.
