Stormy Daniels won’t quit, and if looks like rough sailing ahead for Donald Trump. His former lawyer, Jay Goldberg, confirmed in an appearance on Fox and Friends that the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) between the two is likely non-valid. Goldberg, who was Trump’s lawyer during both of his divorces, said that if Trump failed to sign the NDA, then the contract would be null and void.
This opens a world of possibilities and potential damning revelations. Many believe that Daniels surrendered texts and pictures when she signed the NDA. The agreements dissolution would allow for all communications to be released.
Would the texts show signs of abuse? Or maybe a softer side of our golden President? Either way, any details would hurt Trump in his next campaign.
But to estimate the chances of Trump not signing the NDA we must cast our memory back to right before he was elected. Remember, everyone thought Trump was going to lose, especially in October. So Daniels cashed in on a story that would be worth nothing after the election. The NDA was simply insurance. She got the money, BUT Trump couldn’t sign anything so that he could maintain plausible deniability. Then… He won. Now this $130k story is worth millions, hence the NDA.
But perhaps Trump didn’t sign the paperwork. Now Stormy has an out. Trump certainly can’t go back and sign it now without acknowledging everything. He has put himself into a sort of Catch-22.
Again, outside of outright abuse, any details that emerge from Daniels won’t drastically affect Trump. However, Daniels is fighting hard to be able to speak, and it’s important to remember she’s not gaining any money from doing so. Why is she so eager to be heard? In light of the #MeToo movement, she deserves to be able to speak about what was supposedly a consensual relationship. Here’s to hoping this Storm reaches a Cat 5.
